Ladies are making waves in the roping industry and Zoey Carpenter is no different. The AL cowgirl roped her way to the top bringing home the 2021 Junior Team Roping World Champion. Heading for her partner Gavin Buchanan, of GA, the two roped consistent all week long. Staying in the top ten each go round the pair not only won the World Champion saddle, they also took home the National Finals Average Champion buckle. It is safe to say that this won’t be the first splash that this young lady makes in the roping arena.

Jr Boy Goat TyerTylertown, MS From MS, Tyler Porter, took home the 2021 Junior Boy Goat Tying World Championship. Porter showed up and was all business in Guthrie, OK staying consistent all week long. Placing in the top then in both the first go and the second go of the National Finals Rodeo. Come Sunday afternoon Porter tied his fastest time of the week landing him in the reserve champion spot in Shorty’s Short Go and adding another buckle to his collection clenching the National Finals Average Reserve Champion buckle. In winning the World Champion Goat Tying title Porter received a Scott Thomas custom saddle, a hand crafted Tres Rios gold buckle, a Resistol Hat and $1000 college scholarship. Jr Boy Bareback SteerRayville, LA A young LA cowboy claimed the 2021 NLBRA Junior Boy Bareback Steer World Championship. Taking home a Scott Thomas Custom saddle, Arnold also took home his fair share of hardware. Taking home four Tres Rios handmade buckles and a set of hand made trophy spurs as well. Claiming reserve champion in the first go, the champion buckle in the second go round and reserve champion on Championship Sunday. These strong rides secured him the National Finals Average Champion on top of his other victories that week. Arnold showed up to the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK with a goal and left a World Champion leaving his footprint in the rodeo arena and joining the ranks that so few ever get to by getting to call himself a “World Champion”. Sr Boy Bull RiderDeridder, LA Louisiana gained a new world champion in July, Trey Carroll, took home the 2021 Senior Bull Riding World Champion Saddle. Despite breaking his hand only three short weeks before the finals he didn’t let it get in the way of what he had worked all year for. Placing in the first two go rounds Carroll was set up well going to Shorty’s Short Go, taking home several hand crafted Tres Rios buckles, including the National Finals Average Champion buckle. As a freshman, Carroll, also compete in the National High School Finals Rodeo only a few short weeks after leaving Guthrie. Written by Shawnee Sagers
Jr Boy All-AroundHolland, MI A young MI cowboy made the trip to the Fabulous Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK and he meant business! Sam Windon not only took home a bucket full of hand crafted Tres Rios buckles, but also a beautiful Scott Thomas Custom Saddle. Windon won one of the most sought after titles in rodeo, the 2021 Junior Boy All-Around Cowboy title. Windon performed well in all of his events throughout the week, competing in breakaway roping, flag racing, goat tying, ribbon roping and team roping. Not only did this young cowboy qualify for the National Finals in five events, he finished in the top 15 in the average in every single event. Little Wrangler Goat Tail UntyingOld Everton, AR From a rodeo family this little cowgirl holds her own, Little Wrangler World Champion Goat Tail Untying and Reserve All-Around Champion, is Reese Breedlove of AR. Reese practices everyday and competes along side her older brother Reid and younger brother Gus. With her animal athletes that she shares with her brothers she has accomplished a lot. Scooby is the horse she claimed her world championship on, her brothers also used Scooby for goats and breakaway. She says “he is a great all-around pony!” Fred, is her big barrel horse that has also carried her to the top several times, helping her finish third in the world at the NLBRA finals. Reese was “very excited to win this title because I tried my hardest and this was my last year in the Little Wranglers.” Outside of rodeo she likes to do gymnastics and check cows on her families farm. In the future she hopes to make it in the top five in “toughest junior girl age group she’s seen at the finals!” Written by Shawnee Sagers
Jr Boy Flag RacerLakin, Kansas
Quinter the Kansas Cowboy, didn’t go home empty handed, taking home the Junior Boy World Champion Flag Racing Saddle. “It was exciting and fun to win and do so good” is what this young cowboy had to say about his trip to Guthrie. Quinter won this title on his horse Peno, a 15-year-old quarter horse. He rodeos with his sister, enjoys hanging out with family and having fun. As he continues to rodeo he wants to “win more world championships and doing his best all the time.” Quinter is looking forward to the 2022 rodeo season and in the mean time he will continue practicing, working hard and keeping a good mindset. Sr Girl Pole BenderCleveland, OK As a first in her family to rodeo Mollie has certainly left her mark. This Oklahoma native claimed the Senior Girls World Champion Pole Bending title. In 2019 she was the Junior World Finals Pole Bending Champion and the 2021 Junior American Pole Bending Champion. When asked what winning the NLBRA World Champion title meant to her she replied, “that all the hard work finally paid off!” Mollie shares this World Title with her horse Pistol, and 11-year-old grade gelding she has owned since he was two. Around the age of seven she decided to move Pistol from the heeling side to running poles and she’s been running him ever since. Outside of rodeo Mollie is quite the athlete, playing multiple sports. She enjoys playing basketball, soccer and running track. In the future she would like to add some more World and State titles to her resume. Written by Shawnee Sagers
Little Wrangler Barrel RacerStephenville, TX A three year member of the NLBRA Maddi started competed with us at just seven years old, as a nine year old she claimed the Little Wrangler Barrel Racing World Championship on her horse Handyman. She describes him as “being like Garfield because he is super moody!” she says “he is my best friend and I can always count on him to be the best!” This little cowgirl accomplished more than thing with winning this title, along with it she won her very first saddle. “It was amazing and I still can’t believe it’s real.” Maddi said that winning the Little Wrangler World title was also “Kinda cool, because my dads name is Wrangler.” This little cowgirl isn’t just a hand in the arena, finishing in the top ten in the world in pole bending on her horse Slim that she had started in poles only five short months before the finals. She also enjoys tumbling, playing volleyball and representing rodeo as the Miss Cowboy Capitol PRCA Princess. In the future she plans on staying competitive in the barrels and hopes to make the National Finals Rodeo her Rookie Year. As a champion she knows it takes a lot of practice and hard work and remembers the words of her trainer, Polly Hagey, “If you’re not a good loser, you’ll never be a good winner.” Written by Shawnee Sagers
