- You may sign up online using the membership tab, fill out the paper work and select submit. It will then allow for you to check out as a guest, you can pay online using the PayPal system. You may also go to the printable forms tab and download the Contestant Membership Application. Once it is notarized and you have a copy of a birth certificate/or if applicable, a drivers license, send it to the National Office with the $80 membership fee. Check or Money Order is fine. If you prefer, you can scan and email your completed paperwork to [email protected] or fax it to 719-578-1367. You can call the office shortly afterwards at 719-389-0333 and we can process a credit card payment over the phone. Please note it will take about 24-48 hours to show up in the system so you can then enter online for the rodeos.
~How does my child qualify for Finals?
- The 2018-19 season qualifications for the National Finals Rodeo are: Placing (5)five Times in the Top (7) seven at any of the franchise rodeos held throughout the season.
~What is the Top hand Team and how do I become a part of it?
- If you earn (5) five 1st place points, in any one event going into the 2019 NLBFR, you have qualified for the Top Hand Team. The form is available on the website mid- April and will have the Deadline printed at the top of when it must be into the National Office along with the next season's completed membership renewal.
~Where can I see the results for the Rodeos my child has competed in?
- Look under the Results tab. You can search by the franchise rodeo name for all the rodeo results or in the snapshot section by contestant name to see all the results for one contestant. Please keep in mind these rodeos are usually available within 8 days of the rodeo and are considered "Unofficial" until the Nat'l Office has received the results and have verified the results.
History
The NLBRA, which was founded in 1952, is a youth rodeo organization for kids’ ages 5 to18. The NLBRA’s principal goal is to develop within its members and their families a spirit of fair competition and appreciation of good sportsmanship throughout the experience of healthy rodeo competition.
Franchises
The Association annually sanctions over 500 youth rodeos in 33 states, which provides more opportunities for NLBRA members to earn points and qualify for the National Finals Rodeo. All of our franchises operate in accordance with the NLBRA Rulebook. More than 2,600 kids from 33 states compete in NLBRA rodeos each year. Contestants compete for prizes such as saddles, buckles, scholarships, and cash at local rodeos as well as the National Finals events. By competing at local events, contestants work to qualify for the annual National Finals Rodeo.
National Little Britches Finals Rodeo
The 2021 National Little Britches Finals Rodeo (NLBFR) is scheduled for July 5-10th at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. In 2018, the NLBRA hosted 1144 contestants, who competed for the more than $380,000 in awards and college scholarships that were available during the weeklong competition, making it the largest youth rodeo under one roof in the world. The Lazy E Arena, who will host the National Finals Rodeo 2016-2020, estimated the annual economic impact at nearly $20 million.
