Jr Girl Barrel RacingHopkinsville, KY With one of the largest and toughest groups of junior girl barrel race that has ever crossed the arena dirt at the NLBRA National Finals, one girl came out victorious. Ava Boyd finished the 2021 rodeo season as the Junior Girl World Champion Barrel Racer. Not only did she load up a new world champion saddle in her trailer on her way back to KY, she also loaded up a decent amount of buckles as well. Throughout her week at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK she competed strong all week long and only getting better each go round. Placing 11th in the first go round, jumping up to 5th place in the second go round claiming a hand crafted Tres Rios buckle and finishing in the reserve champion position on Short Go Sunday. That wasn’t the end of her winning during her week in July, Boyd was also able to claim the National Finals Average Champion buckle to her collection. Written by Shawnee Sagers
